Where in Houston are people far from a grocery store?
Made with NeuraCities

How this was worked out
- Stores are 475 OpenStreetMap supermarkets and large grocery stores across all of Harris County, including Kroger, Walmart, H-E-B, ALDI and Fiesta. Pharmacies, dollar stores and convenience stores are excluded. Stores just outside the city count.
- Population comes from 2022 ACS 5-year census tracts. A tract is included when its centre is inside the City of Houston limits.
- Distances are straight lines in metres in a projected coordinate system (NAD83 Texas South Central).
Limitation: road distance is longer than a straight line, and OpenStreetMap may miss some small independent grocers.
