Who waits for the bus in the rain in Charlotte?
Nine in ten Charlotte bus stops have no shelter. The complaints arrive one at a time. The map answers them all at once, by council district.

Axi's question was really 'is it us, or is it everyone', and NeuraCities answered it for all seven council districts at once.
How the districts were counted
Two layers from Charlotte's open data portal and one analysis:
- The seven City Council district boundaries, and CATS's 2,722 bus stops, each carrying a Shelter and a Bench attribute.
- Stops with no shelter were selected, assigned to the district they sit in, and counted, next to the total stops in each district.
- The districts are shaded by that count and charted beside the map. City-wide, 2,436 of 2,722 stops have no shelter. District 1 has 687 of them, District 7 has 110.
The number to say out loud
Raw counts favour big districts, so the fair follow-up is the share: District 6 has shelters at 6% of its stops, District 1 at 12%, District 7 at 8%. Ask the conversation for that, or weight by ridership, or add benches. The answer changes; the minute it takes does not.
